Is Your Business Data Really Protected?

Most Backups Fail When You Need Them Most

A backup you've never tested is just a promise. Most businesses discover their backup is broken, incomplete or corrupted only when they actually need to restore — by then it's too late.

Ransomware Can Encrypt Your Backups Too

Modern ransomware specifically targets and encrypts backup systems. Without an isolated, immutable backup copy, a ransomware attack means you lose everything — including your backups.

You Don't Know How Long Recovery Would Take

Even if your backup works, how long would it take to restore? An RTO of "a few days" can put a small business out of operation permanently.

Business Continuity You Can Count On

We implement backup and recovery solutions that we actually test — so when disaster strikes, you're back up and running fast.

Cloud Backup

Automated daily backups of your servers, workstations, Microsoft 365 data and databases to secure, encrypted cloud storage — with versioning and long-term retention.

Immutable Backup Storage

Ransomware-proof backup storage that cannot be encrypted or deleted by attackers. Your backup data is safe even if your network is fully compromised.

Disaster Recovery Planning

A documented, tested DR plan that defines exactly what happens if your systems go down — who does what, in what order, and how long it takes to be back to normal.

Backup Monitoring & Alerting

We monitor every backup job, every day. Failed or incomplete backups are flagged immediately and resolved before they become a problem.

Regular Restore Testing

We test restores on a regular schedule — not just assume the backup worked. You receive a report confirming your backup is working and your data is recoverable.

Microsoft 365 Backup

Microsoft 365 does not provide a complete backup of your email and files. We add a proper third-party backup solution so your M365 data is genuinely protected.

Backup That Actually Works.

We don't just set up a backup and hope for the best. We monitor it, test it and document it — so you have genuine confidence that your business can recover.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about business backup and disaster recovery from Ventrix Digital.

What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?

Backup is the process of copying your data to a secure location so it can be restored if lost. Disaster recovery is the broader plan for getting your entire business back to normal operation after a major incident — covering not just data, but systems, infrastructure, processes and people. A good backup is one part of a complete disaster recovery strategy. Ventrix Digital implements both — ensuring your data is protected and that your business has a clear, tested plan to recover from any scenario.

How often should my business data be backed up?

For most small and medium businesses, daily automated backups are the minimum standard. For businesses with high transaction volumes or critical databases, more frequent backups — hourly or continuous replication — may be appropriate. We assess your business requirements, data change rate and acceptable data loss tolerance (Recovery Point Objective) and recommend the right backup frequency for your situation.

Can ransomware encrypt our backups?

Yes — modern ransomware specifically targets and encrypts backup systems before attacking your primary data. This is why standard backup solutions are not enough. We implement immutable backup storage — backups that cannot be modified, encrypted or deleted by ransomware or any other attacker, even if your entire network is compromised. Your backup data remains safe and recoverable regardless of what happens to your production environment.

Does Microsoft 365 back up our emails and files automatically?

No — Microsoft 365 is not a backup solution. Microsoft provides basic recycle bin and version history features, but these have short retention periods and do not protect against accidental deletion, ransomware, malicious insiders or account compromise. We add a proper third-party backup solution to your Microsoft 365 environment — covering email, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams — so your business data is genuinely protected.

How do you verify our backups are actually working?

We perform regular restore tests — not just check that a backup completed successfully. A backup job showing green means the data was copied. Only a successful restore test proves the data is actually recoverable. We restore sample data on a scheduled basis, document the results and provide you with a report confirming your backup is working and your data can be recovered when you need it.

How quickly can we recover if our systems go down?

Recovery time depends on what went wrong, how much data needs to be restored and the recovery method used. We define your Recovery Time Objective (RTO) as part of your disaster recovery plan — for most SEQ SMBs we target recovery within 4 hours for critical systems. For businesses that cannot tolerate extended downtime we can implement near-instant failover solutions that bring systems online within minutes.

Do you provide backup and disaster recovery services across SEQ?

Yes — we provide backup and disaster recovery services to businesses across all of South East Queensland, including Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan and Toowoomba. All backup management and monitoring is handled remotely. On-site support is available across the region for hardware replacement and infrastructure recovery when needed.

Find Out If Your Backup Will Actually Work

We'll review your current backup solution and tell you honestly whether it would protect you in a real disaster — ransomware, hardware failure or accidental deletion.
